nope. not dead.

hello friends!  i am here!  i am still alive, i have survived another christmas at target.  this one was much worse than last year, and i actually had a couple of people yell at me or at least in my general direction.  i have not been online in about two weeks, because my internet sucks.  i say, "hey internet, you douchebag!"  and my internet replies with "a douche is a hygenic product, i take that as a compliment."

right.

so i had a fabulous christmas, five days at home with no work to think about and nothing to do but hang out with my family and watch tv channels i don't normally get to watch.  i also saw the chronicles of narnia, which was good, but had to endure my sister's constant criticisms afterwards.  then i came back to iowa city, worked some more, went out to a bar where some of my co-workers were one night (and got drunk), and last weekend went to amber's wedding.  then i went with bryan and kyle to mt. vernon to hang out with some of their friends, and went to randall's (or northside, whatever.)  i got pretty stupid drunk, and also did something to my camera i guess, because i can't even turn it on now.  so i don't have any pictures yet, that is something for me to work on.  but anyway, it was a lot of fun except for the part where i felt sick ALL DAY on sunday when i had to work for a couple of hours for a co-worker.

and i swore i would never drink so much again, but you know me, i can't keep my word on something like that.

i have had my hours cut at work, which sucks, but it means i am working on my portfolio a little bit.  i went the memorial union today to use the darkroom, and i have to say, i was spoiled at cornell.  i didn't enjoy the few hours i spent there at all, and i am very unhappy with the way my prints turned out.  i think that i might see if the app i am doing this for i can send in slides instead, because i just odn't know what to do except keep working on it.  it's very frustrating, i have to say.

but bryan and i made some dinner and we shared it with melody, which was so much fun.  whenever i eat green beans from now on, i will have to think about frogs and grasshoppers.  also, i have not been so full in forever.  now, melody is letting my use her computer, and later, bryan and i are going to watch the 40-year-old virgin.

and remember last year's new years resolution?  well, i totaled up with 90 books for the year, and even though most of those were YA and not the books i meant to read, that's still a pretty good figure.  my resolution for this year is to beat that, or at least read more of the books that i already own.  at least, that is after i re-read his dark materials.

  3. YAY, you're not dead! And I moved, double YAY! :) So now you'll have to come visit me in Des Moines sometime...once the rest of my furniture gets here that is.
