how can no news be good news?

i am waiting to hear back about alaska and london.  and i don't want to wait anymore, i want to know what i'm going to be doing.  i am sick of waiting for people to email me back or call me.  rawr. 

on my gloves at work i wrote "hrothgar" and i have to keep explaining who that is, and then i have to explain HOW i know random stuff like the name of the king in beowulf and people sure do think i'm weird before i even mention that in high school i took english lit specifically because i wanted to read beowulf.  and, of course, there is canterbury tales.  yeah, i know.

i need something new.

how to piss me off

call me in to work and when i get there say you are going home.  because, basically, you don't feel like working.  i DO have things to do like, you know, clean my car and buy shoes.

are you still alive?  i haven't heard from most of you in awhile, so i don't know what's up.  any big news i should know about?  anybody married?  any more babies?  just checking!

me?  i'm bored OUT OF MY FREAKING SKULL.  and, i have four days off of work starting tomorrow so please, feel free to call me or message me or something.  i'm sure i will be online like it's going out of style.  (you know what's going out of style?  nachos.  i honestly never thought i would reach the point where i could not eat or even look at another one of those cheesy babies.)

things i have done lately:  not a whole lot.  today i watched star trek at work during my lunch.  and it was a first season next generation too, which totally rawked.  and seriously, that's probably the most exciting thing i've done ALL. WEEK.

organizing my photos is a chore i should not have delayed.  i have a lot of photos on cds already, but they are random in nature and not by date, so the ones left are kinda the same.  plus all the miscellanious photos not in folders.  aiee.

i started a flickr account, i figured it would be easier than my constant posting photos here.  but lo!  they have an option to do some sort of blogging thing with typepad on flickr!  i haven't figured it out yet, but how much fun it will be!  more picture posting on typepad! 

speaking of pictures, today was insanity at the photo lab because everyone is back from spring break and want their crappy photos taken on terrible disposible cameras developed.  seriously, why not spend that money and invest in a cheap real camera and some film, and practice taking decent photos.  i saw some that some people took in italy, and the finger in front of the lens happened more than once.  i was upset on behalf of the photos which would have been beautiful otherwise, but alack, alack!

fortunately, no nude spring break photos yet.  i'm keeping my fingers crossed that i don't see any.

last night at the mill

evan miller, 12 cannons, akron/family.  full of indie/hipster/emo types, which amuses me.  but it was good music, and people that i like, and i got to see my sister's fabulous phaser necklace even if she didn't bring my cake pans back.

i want the sun back, please.

also, i think i am coming down with something.

perhaps i should make a pun on my name, or the word "cereal".

my sister had to go home for a meeting, and my dad, who thinks i'm starving to death here sent some food back with her for me.  i was at work, so when i got home i went upstairs to look.  and i laughed.  he sent me a box of smart start, which is in addition to two boxes of chex from last time (and i eat breakfast maybe twice a week since i usually don't need to get up).  i also now have sweet peas and green beans (canned), two jars of ragu, half a jar of peanut butter, four potatoes, and more peanut butter cookies which i never finished the last time he gave some to me.  i'm just grateful that no grapefruits were headed my way for once!

saturday night cd release party

these are all of my friend tara's cd release party.  it was fun, and i ate so much guacamole i almost turned into an avocado.  plus, we all got copies of her cd, which i have listened to approximately, oh, five hundred times already because i really like it.

not working today means that i have spent all day trying to think of things to do and failing miserably.  the best i did was to read persuasion for an hour this afternoon and put a few more things into my garage sale box.  now i'm watching lotr and...doing this.  productive.

oh and yeah.  the oscars last night?  i was completely uninterested.  dullsville.

the new housemate

this is gracie.  she's moving in with chia-chi sometime in the near future, but visiting for the weekend.  she is very, very cute.  even though she is not a golden retriever.

i know it's lent, but laissez les bon temps rouler!

since it is an absolute requirement for me to celebrate mardi gras, i made kings cake today for my housemates and i.  i also made some red beans and rice, and i even got andouille for those of us who enjoy meat.  i feel like a python digesting it's meal, and i won't be moving for about a week. 

last night anna had a fuck february party, and a bunch of us sat in the kitchen drinking mulled wine and an assortment of sweet and salty things that other people provided.  it was a fabulous time, which i followed by watching pride & prejudice.  i'm still not over the sappy "mrs. darcy" ending, but whatever, it's still a good movie.
