i guess that means it was a good one.

i think i got some stuff done this weekend, but if you asked me what i don't think i could remember.

argh, show me the way to the rum!

so this week at work is this youth promotion thing with a pirate theme.  you would think that i would find it fun to get to dress pirate-y for A WHOLE WEEK but really, it's not that much so if you can't drink the rum, your hat is always falling down onto your glasses, and NOBODY READS THE SIGN BY THE DOOR so you are always being asked why you are dressed like a pirate.  although, the wearing black thing is pretty fantastic because it makes it very easy to get ready in the morning. 

things recently purchased: this bag, lonely planet guide to alaska, and an alaska atlas and gazetteer.  i should be sufficiently mapped out for a few weeks!

the reception seemed to go pretty well, it seemed like there was a lot going on and a lot of people, so it was a little overwhelming, but all of the art was good.  (and the food!)  i saw sandy, who told me i should visit homer while i am in alaska and i think i will definitely make an effort to go there.  she's also emailed me since then telling me i should create a project for myself to work on before i go.  see, i need more people like that around me, telling me things like MAKE SOME ART ALREADY!  because it's not that i am lazy but, no, really, i am lazy!

although i am doing the race for the cure this year with the credit union, and i said that i would run it with emily.  i know, a whole mile and all.  i could probably run it without doing any kind of training, but i probably should.  i mean, i'm pretty out of shape, and i'm still suffering the effects of those donuts from last summer.  i have no idea how i will resist this summer!  i will have to mail myself plenty of fruit leather and other healthy food items to keep myself away!  (of course, if other people want to mail me some of that stuff, i will not object!  also, i will accept liquor.  do you know how much that stuff costs up there?!?  it's ridiculous!)

have i mentioned that i'm really excited about this?  and that in about two months i will be there?  because if i have not, i am now!

i am so tired that my eyes hurt and i can't remember the last time i was so exhausted.  but i still have work tomorrow and then it's (easter) sunday and then a whole 'nother work week before my next day off.  either i will have to crash tomorrow afternoon for a few hours, or start consuming those large quantities of coffee i thought i would need for my class.

i'm trying not to do a countdown (2.5 months) but it's really hard not to.  i need a vacation again.
