five years gone

i made a new photo album of my time this last weekend in clarion for my reunion.  i took pictures of all the places in town i spent any significant time at.  except the grocery store, i don't mind forgetting i ever went there.  (of course, i have a few scars to remind me.)  it was the same weekend as the teddy bear reunion and festival in the park, so there were a ton of people in town and things to do.  merrilee and i ran into scott almost right away on saturday, so he was with us most of the afternoon walking to the high school, then down the highway to snack village for ice cream and cheese balls.  merrilee and i got a tad sunburned.

then we went to the reunion, which wasn't as bad as i expected it to be.  there was a time at the beginning when i had to call laura, but i got over it and talked to a bunch of people i haven't seen in five years.  ryan told me that star trek reminds him of me, and i kind of laughed at that.  i suppose there are much worse things to be remembered as.  after it was over, we were supposed to get ahold of megan and hang out and see what the clarion bars are like, but we couldn't, so we didn't go to the beer garden.  but i heard the next day it was pretty fun, so i'm sort of sad but not at not spending $5 to get in.

it was so weird to go back.  i drove past the house, and nearly had some sort of breakdown, it was too twilight zone-y.  i don't think i can really explain it, it's just one of those sort of things that you have to experience.  it wasn't really bad, just kind of freaky.  overall, i'm glad i went though, i think it was one of those things i would have regretted had i backed out.
