i wanted to try three columns, but i don't know if i like it or not. decisions, decisions...
it's my birthday today. highly uneventful. the best gift i think i got was whale rider, from my brother. guess we're low on ideas this year. but i'm 23 now, which makes me feel old, somehow.
i've spent my entire week reading the abhorsen trilogy by garth nix. and the only reason it took me five days instead of three was because i had to wait a day to get lirael, and then it took me an extra day to read abhorsen because of grant's cross country meet yesterday.
i finally got a picture of grant running:
he's on the left, cameron is on the right. grant got 31st, which is good considering the competition.
since the meet was in indianola, i also got to see my friend amber who is finishing at simpson this year.
i have more to say, mostly about this movie i watched today, called iron jawed angels. basically, i thought it was really good, and i was surprised that our library would have it. mostly their selection consists of about ten different versions of south pacific. (and i'm pretty sure i'm not exagerating about that, either.)

ReplyDeleteI saw Iron Jawed Angels while I was in Chicago. All in all I thought it was pretty good, although I didn't quite understand the gratuitous masturbatory scene.
me neither! i was like, what the hell is this about? it doesn't even make sense like in pleasantville. sheesh.
