Crater Lake

This past weekend, I drove down to Oregon to spend time hiking and camping at Crater Lake. After a four hour drive, I picked up my friend Carly in Portland, and we suffered in the heat in my car with no A/C the rest of the way. It was gorgeous! The weather was so nice and warm, even at night, and the sky was clear.

We hiked up Mt. Scott, the highest point in the park. It was a 1250 foot climb, in 2.5 miles. Both of us huffed and puffed our way up, but we blamed it on altitude more than anything. (I have after all been ON sea level for the last year or so, so it's valid, right?!)

It was a nice weekend to catch up with a friend, get outdoors, and just in general enjoy being back on land again. Hopefully the weather sticks around a little bit longer--my folks are flying out in a week, and my dad wants to do more camping. Fingers crossed!
