things

  • stephanie is upset about the cancellation of star trek enterprise after only four seasons, so she bought the dvd of season one that just came out.  she's already watched over half of it (without me, mostly).  today she has also traded some cds for a life-size cardboard spock, i presume to go with her life-size cardboard legolas.

  • everyone should read assassination vacation. "...no sitting American president had ever left the country, and he didn't want to stir up a diplomatic hullabaloo.  Especially since after the Spanish-American War exposed our lust for sugar, the Canucks might have suspected McKinley was invading to steal their maple sugar."

  • there was a book sale at the library last weekend.  i told myself i wouldn't go, but i did.  i didn't buy any books teaching me to do the hustle this time, but i did find a copy of i capture the castle.  and a video of the animated the hobbit. and i only spent $4 total.

  • the cornell alumni photo show over homecoming.  they asked thirty alum to participate, and one of them was me?  and the word "exemplary" was used?  of course i'm going to do it!  between that, the art fair and submitting entries to the state fair i will be busy this summer.  i also sold some photographs (finally!) to derek.

  • in two weeks laura will be in iowa.

  1. I love I Capture the Castle. But you already knew that.
I wish I could be at Cornell for the homecoming show, but on the other hand I'd rather see you NOW (aka in two weeks). I'm not much of one for delaying gratification.

what do you think about the alumni photo thing? i'm kind of excited to at least have a couple pieces somewhere, but i don't know which stuff to have up, hmm.

  4. me neither. i will probably end up continuing to take new pictures, panic at the last minute, and then decide on something i took six months ago. this is actually kind of stressing me out already!
