it appears that this year my mardi gras is being celebrated in days advance to the actual event.
the kings cakes i made. one i took to our mardi gras potluck at church.
the gumbo i made for dinner tonight. nice and spicy.
wearing beads at the church potluck.
my t-shirt (and the t-shirt stephanie is wearing in the photo above it) is colored "bayou cypress". hilarious and appropriate.
i got my yearbook today. i had to laugh, because every photo i am in, i think laura is also in. (and oh, in the french club mardi gras photo, i am not doing what it appears i am doing. i know by pointing it out now everyone will look, but i thought i would defend myself early on.) and i laughed when i re-read our thing in the seniors pages, especially the part about dedicating it to the color pink. oh, how i cannot wait to see laura again!!
Save some King's Cake for me!
ReplyDeleteor maybe we can make a fresh one when you come. :)
ReplyDeleteOkay, if we can make gumbo or that red colored rice, too.
ReplyDeleteRed BEANS and rice. I meant red beans and rice. Um, yeah.
ReplyDeletered beans and rice is good! after all the gumbo we have, though, i'm not sure i want to try that again for awhile.
ReplyDeleteooh the cake looks yummy and the gumbo too.
